For the art-exposition "Kunst Kraakt Fabriek" in Halle, Étienne ventured for the first time to the 'art'-level. The '#A001 - ROCKETCHAIR" remains a piece of furniture, but the first approach was a tribute to one of his sources of inspiration Jules Verne.

With stories like 'From the Earth to the Moon', '20000 Leagues Under the Sea' and 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' he awakens the dreams from many people for more than 150 years. The streamlined shape of this chair gives him an instant vintage character and with that refers to the past. Just like Jules Verne, Etienne also wants to look into the future with this work and examine the "progress" of mankind . He just wanted to make visitors reflect on the implications of these advances. Witch usually results in an ever-growing mountain of waste, both on Earth and around our planet.
